Description
With its seven courtyards (one for each day of the week), 52 staircases (weeks of the year) and 365 rooms (days of the year), poet Vita Sackville-West compared Knole House, her childhood home, to a "medieval village". The grand hall is the most impressive, with a sumptuous James I-style oak screen.
