Useful information

Description

The County Hotel, standing on the main road to Carlisle, is a fine example of a stagecoach inn. Outside Victoria Hall is the bronze statue of Fletcher (1913) by Thomas J Clapperton. It was erected in memory of the local contingent that fought alongside King James IV's army at Flodden.
