Useful information

Description

Kubota Gardens owe their existence to their namesake designer, Japanese immigrant Fujitaro Kubota. In the late 1920s, Kubota purchased five acres of logged marshland and began transforming it into a botanical showplace for his business, the Kubota Gardening Company. The gardens, which gradually expanded to 20 acres, also served as a hub of social and cultural events for Seattle's Japanese community until World War II.
