Description
Partially destroyed during the 1992-1995 war, the Sacred Heart Cathedral has since regained its neo-Gothic form. Built on the site of an old caravanserai, where caravans and pilgrims would stop, it hosted a mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II in 1997. Sarajevo's youth like to meet on the steps leading to its monumental gate.
