Description

The Palacio de Raxoy now houses the city hall and is the regional seat of government of the Xunta de Galicia. The French architect Charles Lemaur designed its neo-Classical façade in 1764. The Battle of Clavijo, at which Santiago Matamoros (St James the Slayer of the Moors) is said to have appeared, is represented on the central pediment.
