Useful information

Description

This mountain range starts at sea level then climbs towards the summits, to an altitude of 5,775m, making it the highest coastal mountain range in the world. The Kogi, Wiwa, Arhuaco and Kamkuamo tribes live in the National Park, cultivating cacao, plantain bananas, sugar cane, coffee and potatoes. The park encompasses an incredible variety of natural habitats, and provides shelter to many animals (tapirs, pumas, jaguars) and species of birds.
