Description
This huge complex houses a hacienda, a museum, a garden and a monument to Simón Bolívar. This popular site is a "must" for visitors who want to understand South America's development and independence movements. The property has several outhouses, including a distillery that was part of the hacienda of the De Mier family, who were dedicated to processing sugarcane.
