In addition to the New Hermitage, recognisable by the 10 atlantes on its façade (1839-1852), Millionaire Street is lined with prestigious palaces built by the Petersburg aristocracy and the imperial family. Of particular note is the house of Count Apraxin at n° 22, one of the oldest in the city; at n° 12, the Romanov's last home before their abdication in 1917, then at n° 10, the house where Balzac stayed in 1843.
