In exchange for services rendered during the October Revolution - its crew fired the blank cannon shot that triggered the storming of the Winter Palace - and during the siege of Leningrad in 1941, the Aurora cruiser, a Russian warship built in 1900, was transformed into a museum. Restored and moored on the Great Neva, visitors can view the vessel's command systems and gain an insight into the history of its commanders and the crew's daily life. Somewhat obscure for non-Russian speakers.
