This museum occupies a former cotton mill dating back to the 1830s. The great hall on the ground floor, the ceiling of which is supported by stone columns, displays old machinery bearing witness to man's quest to harness the power of water and wind via its collection of presses, mills, tilt hammers, saws etc. The first floor focuses on man's relationship with the geological world; the second floor with the plant kingdom; and the top floor man's relationship with the animal kingdom.
