Description
Topped by a massive Neoclassical dome, California State Capitol is Sacramento's most prominent landmark. Begun in 1860, mosaic floors, a rotunda and a lavishly adorned dome depict the interior. The ground-floor display cabinets showcase the 58 counties of California. A museum chronicles the history of the state's construction and government. Fine view over the Mall from the 2nd level.
