Useful information

Description

The grounds, now reduced to 6ha, are home to some rare plant species, a rose garden and the Marengo cedar commemorating the victory of 14 June 1800. Napoleon is known to have used the Pavillon de Travail as his study in summer, as he did the castle library. Another sight in the park is the mausoleum of the Imperial Prince, the son of Napoleon III, killed by the Zulus in 1879.
