Langeland is a long and narrow island situated off Tåsinge, to which it is connected by a bridge. Its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful beaches are attracting more and more tourists. Rudkøbing, the main city and marina, is a great place to relax. The village of Tranekær, with its colourfully painted houses, is known for its bright red castle (12C), the colour having changed during a reworking in 1863. The road to the fishing port of Loharis takes you through some lovely countryside. From there, minor roads lead to the beaches of Emmerbølle and Dageløkke.
