This Gothic church, completed in 1545, was financed by the town's shipowners and merchants. The outer walls and tower have plaques carved in the form of caravels. On the altar in the right aisle, note the four alabaster reliefs dating from the 16C, the work of the Nottingham workshop. The 17C reredos on the high altar has six twisted columns and is richly decorated with statues of the evangelists, angels and vine-leaves.
