The Michelin Guide's review
Dating from the 13C but reworked around 1630, Ringebu Stavkirke stands on the Pilegrimsleden (Pilgrim Way), a path that used to lead pilgrims from Oslo to Nidaros (Trondheim). From the outside it is colourful but plain, in contrast with the Baroque decoration that abounds inside. The main points of interest are the magnificent altarpiece and pulpit, as well as an organ and brightly painted pillars.
