Description

This rambling brick Victorian row house was home to Maggie Walker (1867-1934), a pioneering black entrepreneur and the first American woman to found and preside over a chartered bank. Her St. Luke Penny Savings Bank opened in 1903; today it continues as the Consolidated Bank and Trust Company.
