Description
The Santa Cruz neighbourhood stands atop Sangremal Hill, 800m from Plaza de Armas by Avenue Carranza. At the end of the gentle ascent, you will be greeted by the statue of St Jacques, patron saint of the town, whose appearance during the battle of 25 July 1531 led by Fernando de Tapia convinced the Otomi to accept Christianity. Don't miss the view from the belvedere over the imposing aqueduct (18C), the pride of Querétanos!
