Useful information

Description

Opposite the fine wooden balcony (1668) adorning the house where the Count of Lemos is said to have stayed, is the museum. Now the property of the municipality, it was bought on the death of German artist Carlos Dreyer (1895-1975), who painted lake landscapes and portraits of indigenous people. It contains a collection of pucara sculptures, pre-Inca and Inca pottery and fabrics, mummies, deformed and trepanned Qulla skulls, as well as solid gold tiaras, idols and chest guards found at the Sillustani site.
