Description
The educational center of Mormonism was established in 1877 by Brigham Young. One of the largest private universities in the US, the 634-acre campus has several museums. The Museum of Art features 19C American and European works and a collection of primitive musical instruments. The Museum of Paleontology boasts an outstanding research collection of Jurassic dinosaurs. The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum explores natural history. The Museum of Peoples and Cultures focuses on Southwest Indian, Mexican and Mayan artifacts.
