The seventh college established in the US (1764), Brown University is a member of the prestigious Ivy League. Its 140-acre College Hill campus consists of some 245 buildings. The university, the first in the United States to accept students regardless of their religion, is still regarded as one of the most progressive of the Ivy League universities.
