Description
This cemetery covering several hectares of land beyond the district of Vinohrady was created following the Great Plague of 1680 and comprises ten different cemeteries, the oldest of which have been declared historic monuments. The tombs of famous figures from Czech history are gathered around St Roch Church (1682), from the lexicographer Jose Jungmann to the student Ian Palach, and Franz Kafka in the new Jewish cemetery.
