Useful information

Description

The Postal Museum occupies a pretty 16C house, the upper floor of which is decorated with murals painted in 1847 by Josef Navratil (mountainous landscapes in the Alpine Room, and scenes from the theatre and opera in the Theatre Room). The museum itself illustrates Czechoslovakian history through its collection of stamps (Austro-Czech double markings from the First Republic, stamps from Hitler's protectorate period, as well as from the puppet government of Slovakia) and other objects relating to the postal service.
