Description
The Eucalypt forests around Port Macquarie house a large koala population, which is now endangered. Too many of these charming balls of grey fluff are hit by cars, bitten by dogs, burnt in forest fires or infected with chlamydia, an illness that often proves fatal. Port Macquarie Koala Hospital takes in and cares for the wounded and sick animals, before releasing them back into nature, when possible.
