The Michelin Guide's review
The glass-fronted pavilion, built for the bicentenary of the United States (1976), jealously guards the revered Liberty Bell. Having developed a crack soon after its arrival in Philadelphia, the bell had to be recast. It was hung in the Independence Hall belfry in 1753, where it remained for almost 100 years. Today it is a national symbol of freedom.
