Description
You can't avoid Lake Pátzcuaro. First of all, it is one of the largest lakes in Mexico. It is also a major destination for excursions, which you will realise the minute you see all the activity going on at the landing stage. Ride in alancha on the lake's calm waters to Janitzio Island, where the mirador de Morelos offers a breathtaking ensemble view. Yunuén is the only island that has managed to avoid this voracious tourism, and among the villages dotting the lakeside, Tzintzuntzan is the most interesting.
