Description
Built by Stefan cel Mare in 1487 as part of a monastic complex, this small building incorporates elements of the Moldavian style. Beyond the Last Judgement-themed Gothic doorway are its original paintings (undergoing restoration). Fine Lamentation in the square naos. The west wall of the pronaos depicts the cavalcade of Emperor Constantine, departing to defend Christianity in the company of sixteen mounted saints, guided by the archangel Michael.
