Useful information

Description

The Petit Palais was built by Charles Girault for the 1900 Paris Exposition. In 1902 it became the city's Fine Arts Museum. Faced with the task of ensuring that the works were displayed only by daylight, the architect multiplied its openings. The collection is as eclectic and impressive as its setting. It focuses mainly on French art from 1880 to 1914, including decorative arts in 1900, Courbet and realism, Roll and naturalism, Monet and landscape painting, Cézanne and modernity and Carpeaux and sculpture.
