Rue Vavin

Useful information

Description

Rue Vavin is pleasantly lined by boutiques, cafés and restaurants. The building at no 26, designed in 1912 by architect Henri Sauvage, who founded the Low-priced, hygienic accommodation company in 1903, allows maximum light to enter the flats thanks to balcony-terraces. Its white enamelled ceramic façade, underscored by blue, is quite spectacular. The last scenes of Last tango in Paris by Bernardo Bertolucci were shot here.
