Description
Nothing destined the small town of Oswiecim to become forever synonymous with the horrors of Nazism and the Holocaust. Incorporated into the Third Reich, its name was Germanified to Auschwitz, as it was known for six years. These two syllables evoke the greatest mass murder in the history of humanity. Both memorial and museum, it is today one of Poland's most visited sites.
