Useful information

Description

Opposite the capitol, this museum presents an overview of state history, from early natives to oilfield wildcatters to the space program. The Statehood Gallery offers a timeline through artifacts and photographs; the American Indian Gallery differentiates the 68 tribes forced to migrate to Oklahoma in the late 19C. Unique exhibits include a bison-hide tepee, a wagon used in two land runs, Indian murals and historic quilts.
