Damaged on several occasions, then finally destroyed by the Turks, this church was rebuilt in the 18C in Baroque style. It is remarkable for its five altars and its richly decorated pulpit carved by local sculptors whose work conveys great sincerity through its simplicity and naïve style. Note the astonishing altar, which is known as the Passion or Krucsay altar because it was built at the request of János Krucsay in memory of his wife, whom he had just had executed.
