This much-restored fortress offers a maze of staircases, platforms and terraced gardens. Developed by King Frederick Wilhelm IV of Prussia, the castle fell into ruin from 1842. The living quarters are furnished in the Gothic Revival and Biedermeier styles. Nearby you will find an open-cast mine.
