The vast thermal bath area shows the high level of technology attained from the 1C onwards. Note the baths for wealthy citizens, latrines and frigidarium. A walkway leads to the east baths, which the public used and are more modest in decor but similarly equipped. The decumanus II joins a north-south street leading to the former Villa des Arènes. To the left, the west baths were for women only. They were later turned into a palaeo-Christian baptistery, then a cathedral.
