Useful information

Description

The ground floor of what used to be the Nabisco factory (NAtional BIScuit COmpany) has been converted into the gourmet Chelsea Market, where the structure, piping, brick walls and old elevators of its predecessor can still be seen. Constructed in 1898 and abandoned over the course of the 1980s, the building was the 1912 birthplace of one of America's most famous biscuits: the Oreo, two round chocolate biscuits with a creamy white filling.
