The Michelin Guide's review
The exterior walls of this library (1961, Gordon Bunshaft) are composed of a granite framework fitted with translucent marble panels. Enter the library and observe the unusual effect produced by the sunlight streaming through the marble slabs. A Gutenberg Bible and changing exhibits are displayed on the mezzanine. Isamu Noguchi's sculptures of geometric shapes anchor the sunken courtyard that fronts the library.
