Green Island, the smaller of the two islands on the east coast, owes its popularity with tourists to its saltwater hot springs, of which there are just three examples in the whole world. Formerly a detention centre for political prisoners, this idyllic spot is also home to the Human Rights Memorial Park and the Human Rights Museum, opened in 2018.
