On Kudrinskaya Square, this Stalinist skyscraper, studded with pompous sculptures, is a true hymn to the "new man". Framed by two tiered buildings and topped by a steeple, the 156m-high building, completed in 1954 under the direction of Mikhail Posokhin, is not lacking in style. With that of Taganka, it is the only one of the seven Stalinist skyscrapers to have been designed as housing.
