Garcilaso de la Vega, who the Spanish called the Inca because he was son of a Conquistador and an Inca princess, lived in this house and wrote some of his main books here, including The Story of the Conquest of Florida and A General History of Peru. Inside this fine example of civic architecture from the time, noted for its sobriety and golden stone, admire original period furniture alongside imitation pieces.
