Description
A circular building designed by Maya Lin, the Civil Rights Memorial and Center pays tribute to 40 civil rights martyrs, including Martin Luther King, whose names are engraved at the foot of a black granite fountain. The memorial is part of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a foundation which fights against racism, fanaticism and intolerance.
