The Graufesenque archaeological site has revealed the foundations of a Gallo-Roman village of potters. With an impressive reputation throughout the Roman world, pottery from here was exported as far away as India. Excavations uncovered the foundations of the village with its main street and canal, slave quarters and enormous kilns where 40 000 vases could be fired in the same batch!
