Writer Alessandro Manzoni (1785-1873) wrote The Fiancés, a "grand epic about the humble", thus renewing the genre of the historical novel. For 60 years he lived in this opulent home that contains souvenirs, photographs, portraits, letters and illustrations of his famous novel.
