Description
This carefully planned highway, modeled on New York's Bronx River Parkway, is paralleled by a popular paved biking and walking path, the Mount Vernon Trail, that leads through the wetlands along the Potomac River. Parking pull-offs, particularly south of Old Town Alexandria, allow you to park and walk-or bike-as far as you like.
