Description
This imposing medieval castle (1306) forms part of a pair of 12C-14C fortresses standing within a single set of surrounding walls. From 1866, Viollet-le-Duc restored the building; note the extraordinary decoration in the dining hall and pink bedchamber, which foreshadow the Art Nouveau style. In the grounds, there is a chapel with an oriental-style interior set among the ancient trees. Facing the entrance, the sharecropping farm (12C dovecot) has a few farm animals.
