The Michelin Guide's review
Not far from Cypress Hills Provincial Park, this North West Mounted Police post was named after its founder, James Walsh. From 1878 to 1882, the headquarters of this police force was based here and played a pivotal role in the relations between the Canadian government and the Plains First Nations people. Exhibitions and films acquaint visitors with the history, before they tour the barracks, stables, workshop and the commissioner's residence.
