Useful information

Description

Parque Nacional de Jaragua covers the entire southern area of the Pedernales peninsula. It is depicted by several lagoons (including Oviedo Lagoon), archipelagos and virgin islands (Beata, Alto Velo, Los Frailes and Piedra Negra) and fourteen different land ecosystems. This superb biotope is home to 464 plant species, 122 of which are endemic, 179 species of birds (terns, pink flamingos) and a unique mammal, the solenodon. The exquisite Las Águilas beach is the park's pride and joy.
