Forced to flee in the 14C, the Jews were replaced by wealthy Italian bankers who had lavish houses built, such as hôtel Paterin (also called "maison Henri IV") at N°4, hôtel Bullioud with Philibert Delorme gallery (N° 8), Antoine Groslier de Servières's house (N° 10), the dwelling at N° 20, the Baronat house (N° 22) and the Dugas house (au N° 23).
