Useful information

Description

This amphitheatre is believed to have been built in 12 BC as a place for delegates from the 60 Gaulish tribes to come together. Hadrian later enlarged it and history has it that St Blandine was tortured here in 177. The north part of the podium, which supported the terraces has been cleared, as has the arena surrounded by a gutter.
