Description
Near Tours but spared the agitation of the town, the chateau of the Dukes of Luynes stands on a rocky outcrop, rather like an eagle's nest. Its massive silhouette calls to mind its past as a medieval fortress thanks to its walls bristling with arrow slits and defensive niches and abutting round towers. The Gothic lodge was added in the 15C.
