Useful information

Description

During the Regency period, this street was one of London's most elegant. Gated at its northern end, it had some fine houses by the Adam brothers, but only one of their buildings (n°46-48) has survived. The Langham Hotel, a tall Victorian building with pavilion roof, replaced Foley House in 1864. The sweeping façade of the BBC's headquarters was designed by G Val Myer in 1931.
