Useful information

Description

Built from 1819 to 1822, this unusual church in the neo-classic Greek Revival style, designed by William Inwood, echoes the Erechtheum of the Acropolis in Athens in the caryatids supporting the roof of the sacristy, from north to south (considered too large, it was necessary to make them smaller). The octagonal clock tower and the colonnade of the facade were inspired by the Tower of the Winds in the Agora in Athens.
